The BEST in every way!

Quiet, smooth running, and a FIVE YEAR HEPA filter!! This Austin Healthmate air purifier is the best one you can buy. It cleans a 1500 square foot home, so you don't even have to have it in the room you're actually in! And so easy to move around on the 4 large casters, this air purifier is convenient to clean under, too! Recommended!

Everything I expected

This filter works great. The high setting (3) is loud, but if you want it to actually fiter the air, then it is going to be loud. We put it in our loft to filter the majority of the house, and I swear the air is cleaner. At night, we put the filter on the lowest setting (1), and we don't even hear it from the bedroom. I don't have sientific evidence that this is performing better, so I can only provide my word. Now that it has been on for a few days, we will probably leave it at 2, which you could talk over. We have purchased Ionic Breezes in the past, but they don't compare to this filter. (I can't say what I really feel about the Ionic Breezes!)

Here is my personal experience

I bought this air purifiier and started using it in the basement. Two days later the basement had a very musty smell. The basement normally has very little odor. I had the purifiier set on medium. It is a good looking machine and with wheels is easy to move around.

I cannot recommend it as my basement smelled a lot worse two days later. This may have been becuase it helped to moisten the place. I also bougth the model for chemically sensitive people which has potasium iodide so I do not know if that contributed. I know that consumersearch.com and us consumer reports are the best places to get info. This product is not rated high by either. I recommend the whilpool model which is quieter and very highly recommended. Good luck!
